Graphic Head with puzzle pieces

The road to recovery can be daunting. Our entire staff of compassionate counselors, therapists, and support personnel understand.

Your future starts with a simple phone call and consultation — just let us know why you’re here. Tell us your story.

We want to help you.

Your recovery is our Mission

Our offices are actually in an old home. We’ve designed our offices to help you feel comfortable in a place where you can speak freely.

When you enter the front door, look to your right, and check in with our receptionist. They will welcome you, let you know where to relax before your appointment, and then let your therapist know you have arrived.

Thanks for choosing The Caring Center. We’re here for you.

Appointments

Consultation

In our first consultation, we create the opportunity to get to know you. We want to hear your story so we can “meet you where you are at” in your life. Together we’ll see if we’re a good fit for each other.

We’ll also review our services and our approach to treatment. This will be the time we discuss any outside resources that could help you advance in your recovery. If we feel it’s needed and you agree, we’ll engage other treatment providers to help in your care.

Call us for an appointment. 316-295-4800

Assessment

Your assessment usually occurs after consultation or at the time of your first visit to The Caring Center. This is a time when we start to get to know and understand each other.

We understand your assessment can bring on feelings of uncertainty and vulnerability. Sharing intimate details about your life with a stranger can be intimidating at first. That’s OK. We’ll help walk you through it as you feel comfortable.

Individual Counseling

Individual counseling sessions gives us an opportunity to meet one-on-one. The entire focus is on you and discovering your story to help you figure out your future story. We do our best to accommodate your work schedule. Call us to schedule your next appointment.

Group Counseling

Counseling groups provide a forum for you to share your obstacles and progress with others experiencing similar challenges in life. Understanding what others are going through in their recovery process can help you feel more comfortable and inspire you to continue.

The synergy of the group often becomes a source of strength. Groups have been very successful for our patients. Some of our patients find they improve their social skills by practicing in this safe environment.

Group counseling can help you gain more confidence in who you are and where you are at in your process. Let’s start the process, call us today.

Couples Counseling

If you need help relating to your partner, couples counseling can help you get through the rough patches. We allow equal amounts of time for both of you to gain an understanding of the problem. We listen to both sides of the story separately, without interruption or judgement.

Our goal is to discover any patterns of communication that often need to be addressed surrounding the conflicts or the reason for counseling.  We work with you to understand and mediate the problem. Often, we help the two of you diffuse the “charge” or harmful negative mental energy that has been stored up over the life of your relationship.

Couples counseling allows each of you to gain insight into the role you played in past experiences, and helps you define your new roles.

This will be a time to learn how to communicate in a more respectful and effective way. Together you will build new communication patterns. You’ll learn how to address issues in a healthy manner as they arise between you two instead of letting the irritation stew between you.

Keep your relationship together by building better communication through couples counseling. Give us a call today for a better tomorrow.

Family and Child Therapy

We’ve expanded our couples counseling to help entire families. For children, Dr. Jenny Findling has many years of experience using play therapy treatments to help children heal by sharing their perspective while playing.  Children naturally communicate through play.

Drug and alcohol abuse and dependence has a huge impact on families, especially young children. Dr. Findling’s Child Play Therapy practice adds to the healing we facilitate at The Caring Center of Wichita. Give her a call to help your child free themselves of their past traumatic experiences.
