Hello. I’m Kathleen Ruth – yes, I know, two first names — which makes my name easy to remember for many of my patients.

My Past

For over three decades I have helped people suffering with drug dependence. I joined The Caring Center of Wichita in 2019 as a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker (LSCSW). It’s been a good move for me. The power of addiction is strong – no matter what the poison — and I’m here to help.

My schooling prepared me to work with diverse populations both individually and in group sessions. I earned my bachelor’s degree in addiction counseling and completed my master’s in social work specializing in addictive behaviors.

I have continued my education on substance abuse disorders as well as other mental health issues. Experience in my professional and personal lives has shown me that addiction stretches into many areas of life and impacts families as well as the individual.

My Clients

My past clients prepared me to help my current clients in today’s topsy-turvy world.

I enjoy working with clients who want to make changes in their lives – changes that improve their emotions, feelings, and ways of thinking.

Many of my clients come to work on their addictions. Often they find a need for help with their depression, anxiety, and relationship issues. Most find that their self-esteem improves with each session. All my clients who commit to the program become more comfortable with themselves and their day-to-day situations.

As a result of their commitment, they are able to better themselves and improve their personal situations. Life improves for them overall.

I also like working with clients who are LGBTQ+ and struggle with accepting themselves and/or having trouble being accepted by others in their life. Life can be hard if you differ from the proverbial mainstream.

As I stated, I am here to help and happy to do so. Give me call if you need me. 316-295-4800

Be safe. Be proud. Do good.

~ Kathy
