Jeannette Wondra, CNA

I’ve found my work home at The Caring Center of Wichita. From day one, the staff here welcomed me with kindness and support, and I’m proud to be part of such a compassionate team. Being surrounded by people who truly care—about our patients and each other—has made all the difference.

My journey into the mental health field is personal. I’ve seen the impact of mental health struggles up close within my own family. My son has Asperger’s, and several family members live with bipolar disorder. Supporting them through their ups and downs has given me a deep understanding of the challenges that come with mental illness. Those experiences lit a fire in me to be there for others walking similar paths. But it’s not just my loved ones—I’ve had my own mental health challenges, too. I know what it’s like to feel overwhelmed, to wrestle with anxiety, and to fight through the tough days. Those experiences have helped me grow stronger and more empathetic. They’ve shaped the way I connect with others and made me more passionate than ever  about being a part of the healing process—for others and for myself.

Before I started working in mental health, I spent time in the service industry as a waitress. I loved connecting with people and making them feel seen and cared for, which naturally led me toward a more impactful career in mental health and substance use services. Once I made that move, everything clicked. I knew I had found my calling.

I later went back to school to earn my Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license and continued my journey in mental health. Today, as Office Manager at The Caring Center, I feel like I’m exactly where I’m meant to be. I love the people I work with—both the staff and our patients— and I’m grateful to be part of something that makes a real difference in people’s lives.

Whether you’re walking through our doors for the first time or calling to schedule an appointment, I’ll likely be the one greeting you. I’m here to help with whatever you need, including answering questions or helping with paperwork. Please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Give us a call at 316-295-4800 to schedule an appointment with one of our amazing counselors. We’re here for you, and I look forward to meeting you.
