Dear all,
I thought I would pass on an interview Celia Llopis-Jensen of Kansas News Service did with one of our patients. It aired December 14, 2022, on Kansas NPR. The overarching message centered on the importance of providing Medicated Assisted Treatment (MAT) to those suffering from substance use disorders — and MAT for those in jail and after their release.
Our patient said he is fine with us sharing this article on our website and on social media. I really am impressed how concisely they boiled this hour interview at my office into a 7.5 minute interview telling Tanner’s life story and how effective Medicated Assisted Treatments are and were for his recovery from both opioids and alcohol.
Listen to his story.
“Thirty-four-year-old Tanner first tried opioids as a teenager. Since then, he says doctors have helped him by prescribing medications that reduce cravings.”
